BMW GS Safari – DAY One

James is one of our sales guys here at Procycles BMW Hornsby. He knows his bikes inside out because its his job to sell them. When it came time to upgrade, James chose a new BMW S1000 RR Sport. And today was new bike day. Here James is being congratulated by our Hornsby Dealer Principal Matt on his new purchase. James fully kitted out his S1000 RR with the essential extra accessories; Radiator and Oil Guards, a Tank Protector, Bobbins, TFT Screen Protector and the full Exhaust System to be fitted at his first service. Procycles sell more of these bikes than anybody, so we get to see what they are like when they come back for regular servicing. As well as the extras James added to his new bike, by choosing the Sport variant, he also gets a Tyre Pressure Monitor, Passenger Kit and the all-important Dynamic Package, which includes Dynamic Damping Control, Heated Grips and Cruise Control.

Brad came into Procycles BMW Hornsby looking for sports bike performance and handling, but with real-world long-distance touring capabilities. And preferably something that was a lot lighter to manoeuvre around in tight situations. Brad locked onto the all-new BMW F900 XR Sport edition, with a relaxed, upright sitting position and fully adjustable suspension that allows for fine-tuning to suit different conditions. The 2025 model boasts a higher standard specification, a taller screen, and hand guards, plus advanced technical features like DTC and ABS Pro, to enhance safety and control. This is an easy bike to ride, with great ergonomics and practical luggage options. A sporty crossover complete with longer-travel suspension, that delivers perky and responsive performance. The DOHC eight-valve engine produces 105 hp at 8500 rpm and 67.9 lb.-ft. at 6500 rpm, and there’s a new Dynamic riding mode as part of the standard package. And it looks fantastic, fully brimming with BMW’s engineering and production values.

Riley knew exactly what he wanted when he came into Procycles Kawasaki Sydney. His only question was; did we have a brand new 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 650 KRT Edition and when could he have it. It was the bike he had been searching for and we had one in stock. Riley wasted no time in putting down a deposit and was back a few days later, to collect his new ride. Good call Riley. The Ninja 650 motorcycle comes packed with a sporty 649cc engine, which produces 67 hp of power at 8,000 rpm and 65 Nm torque at 6,700 rpm. This model has been upgraded with next-level technology, and sharp styling. It’s unmistakably sporty performance is met with an upright riding position for exciting daily commutes. The 4.3” all-digital TFT full colour instrumentation offers great visibility. Utilizing Smartphone Connectivity through RIDEOLOGY THE APP, a number of functions can be accessed, logged, and reviewed enhancing the experience. Kawasaki’s advanced traction control system negotiates low-traction surfaces with confidence and Riley can select between three modes to suit his riding situation and preference.

Chris was waiting for a while for his new BMW R1300 GS to come through. He not only ordered it in Triple Black with all the options, but also with the Enduro Pack and the factory-fitted Adaptive Height Control. This new technology from BMW is amazing. Using sensors, the Height Control feature automatically adjusts the motorcycle's ride height, lowering it by approx. 30mm when stationary, to make it easier for riders to reach the ground, and raising it to normal ride height when the bike is in motion, maintaining optimal ground clearance. A great addition for those of us who are vertically challenged. At Procycles BMW Hornsby, as much as we love the Tri-colour bikes, there is something special about the all black 1300 GS. Congratulations Chris. All good things come to those who wait.

A big boy needs a man’s bike, like the undisputed Alpha of the Naked Pack, KTM’s awesome 1390 SuperDuke R. Barney parted with his GSX-R 1000 because it was too small for him and bought himself a new Beast, from Procycles KTM Sydney. This latest generation SuperDuke is 60% all new. Only the fame and swingarm are the same. The engine, electronics, bodywork and suspension were all treated to a massive makeover. The big V-twin’s power has increased to 141.7kW (190hp) @ 10,000rpm. Torque is up to 145Nm @ 8000rpm. Top speed taps out at 280km/h. Not satisfied with the SuperDuke’s 190 bhp Barney added the KTM Tech Pack which adds a myriad extra functions like launch control, nine-level traction control, factory start, performance mode, anti-wheelie mode, track mode, lap timer, telemetry, quickshifter, adaptive brake light and engine brake control. When it came time for new bike day, Barney insisted on posing with Vik, our Procycles Dealer Principal. And Vik wasn’t going to argue!

This beautiful Black Storm Metallic BMW S1000 XR is Chris’ first BMW. He researched the motorcycle with the most useable sport bike performance, a relaxed upright seating position, stunning looks and the best ergonomics in its class, and up came the BMW S1000 XR. This sit-up superbike has the genes of the RR, with the comfort of a long-distance tourer. It delivers a blistering 170hp at 11,000 rpm and weighs 227 kgs. It comes with state-of-the-art electronics, rider and safety aids, including; Integral ABS Pro, MSR, Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Brake Control, Dynamic ESA. Plus TFT Display with Connectivity, Riding Mode Pro, Keyless Ride, Adaptive LED Headlight Pro, Adjustable Windscreen, 12V Socket, USB Port and a Drop Sensor. At Procycles BMW Sydney, we managed to get Chris’s bike delivered just in time for the Easter long weekend and some clear riding weather. He didn’t hang around to collect his Easter eggs, choosing to head for the horizon instead.

At Procycles BMW Sydney, we were hoping nobody would notice this beautiful ex-demonstrator, when we listed it onbikesales.com.auThis BMW R12 nineT in San Remo Green with brushed Matt Silver highlights was the prettiest motorcycle we had seen in ages. Absolutely true understated retro elegance. But eagle-eyed Brendan from the ACT spotted it and drove up to Sydney to snap it up, before we could change our minds. BMW R12 nineTs are not just easy on the eye … the bike itself is really well balanced, has great ergonomics and is a joy to ride. Its fast and flexible, super-stable and inspires massive confidence in corners, as well as looking great reflected in shop windows. The overall finish on the bike is very very good, and it’s full of neat touches and attention to detail from top to toe. Under the nineT’s conservative skin hides BMW’s latest electronics and technology, including Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro and Riding Modes. The R12 nineT has a strong engine with thumping torque and a seamless power delivery. The 1,170cc air cooled Boxer Twin puts out about 109bhp and a decent Brembo set up makes braking easy, the clutch is light and the gear change sharp and sure. It is an incredible motorcycle that’s second to none in the retro motorcycle market.

John definitely upgraded his adventures when he traded up from his 890 Adv R to this beautiful new BMW R1300GS Option 719, in spectacular Aurelius Green and Gold colours, from Procycles BMW Sydney. This bike is unmistakably exclusive and available with premium equipment for individualists. The 719 variant gives John the extra style options of the Gold Cross Spoke Wheels and the Option 719 Shadow Billet Pack. Arthur knows all about BMW’s heritage and their motorcycles that reflect a long, rich history. He was previously riding an R nineT and loving it … until this beautiful new BMW R12 S was released. A tribute to the original BMW R90S 900cc Boxer, produced by BMW from 1973 to 1976. Sporting distinctive two-tone paintwork, a bikini fairing and a new tail, the classic R90S was intended to shrug off the image of BMW bikes as staid and utilitarian.



BMW has now developed this new model R12 S in ‘Lava Orange,’ as a nod to the R90 S’s original ‘Daytona Orange’ paintwork and offer it as a complete, standalone model. The R12 S gets a more authentic retro style by also including chrome wire wheels.



The new Boxer engine develops 109 hp (80 kW) and 115 Nm max. torque at 6,500 rpm. The R12 S styling ‘S’ graphics, red pinstriping around the faded-in silver sections on the tank and tail, a tinted screen and orange stitching on the seat. BMW further added two ‘Option 719 Shadow Billet’ packs of blacked-out aluminium components, including the bars and footpegs, as well as the ‘Headlight Pro’ Cornering light system, and the ‘Comfort Package’ including Cruise control, Hill start control, Heated grips and Quickshifter.

Max has been through all the generations of BMW GS’s, R1200, R1250, now he’s got the latest model. Max has just returned from the New Zealand GS Safari and his first call was to Procycles BMW Sydney to collect his new R1300 GS Trophy, completely individualised with this awesome custom wrap. Craig Bernard [from the GS Safari crew] applied the graphics and did a fantastic job. Max supplied the kit which he sourced from: Dabrabbit (DRB Graphix) (@dabrabbit_graphics) By all reports Max had the best time in New Zealand and can’t wait until the next one, particularly now he’s on the best equipment for the job. Well done Max. Your new ride looks great and many congratulations to all involved.

Brandon drove all the way from Queensland to collect this amazing bike. He couldn’t wait to get his hands on this fully kitted BMW M1000 RR, from Procycles BMW Hornsby. Brandon is a long-term RR owner, upgrading from his S1000 RR, which he loved and saw no reason to change, until he saw this stunner. Totally loaded with extra carbon, full Akrapovic titanium carbon exhaust system and hardly been ridden. This is about as good as it gets, outside of the World Superbike Series pits. This bike will really turn heads when Brandon rides it round his local haunts. And people are going to hear him, long before they see him.

Johnny has been on a BMW since he was three years old. Here he is riding pillion in 1982, with his slightly older brother up front, both on their Dad’s 1981 BMW R65. This was Johnny’s first memory of motorbikes, and he’s always wanted a BMW Boxer ever since. 43 years later, Dad is still very much alive and now living in Ireland, and yes, he’s still a motorbike nut. Now after 13 years of working in Botany, Johnny has just finished up his role, so he treated himself to a new motorcycle. He took advantage of the Procycles BMW Sydney huge Demo sale and saved big money on this gorgeous R12 nineT retro classic. After taking delivery, Johnny penned a note to our BMW sales guy Sean; “Beautiful ride home, itching to get out for a ride over the next few days! Many thanks for all your help and making the purchase so enjoyable.” 

Nicolas is one of our specialist BMW technicians at Procycles BMW Sydney. He spends his working day fine-tuning customer’s BMWs and now he owns one! Nicolas was doing a 40-point health check and prepare for sale on this beautiful S1000 RR trade-in. It was in such good condition he kept it for himself. Who could resist wanting to own the world’s best all-round Superbike. The BMW S1000 RR just keeps getting better and better. With what started out in 2009 as a race-oriented sport bike, initially made by BMW Motorrad for homologation, so they could compete in the Superbike World Championship, has year-by-year, undergone ongoing development, with more power, lighter weight, better electronic packages. Subtle, but performance-enhancing improvements that keep this machine ahead of the competition. Just ask Toprak, the current WSBK champion. And even though it wins world championships, unlike its competition, the S1000 RR has not lost any of its versatility. Nicolas can still ride it comfortably to work, negotiate the traffic and arrive refreshed and exhilarated. Enjoying every second of his journey.

This gorgeous BMW R12 Highline is Mark’s sixth motorcycle, that Procycles BMW Sydney can remember. He transitioned from a Bonneville T100 to a BMW F700 GS, then back to a Bonneville T120, onto a BMW RnineT, and now he traded his Speedmaster 1200 onto the R12, a modern cruiser with a retro twist, easy handling, comfortable riding position, and stylish design. The R12 is powered by a 1,170cc boxer engine, producing 95 bhp [70 kW] at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 110 Nm at 6,000rpm. Not a lot of horsepower, but when you ride the bike it has way more grunt that the specs suggest. The solid torque really punches this unit along. It’s a stable, user-friendly ride at speed and you can happily cruise, sitting upright, very comfortably in the saddle. Mark’s R12 HL [Highline] variant additions include the Comfort Package with Hill Start Control, Gear Shift Assist Pro, Heated Grips and Cruise Control. He also gets a Passenger Kit, Tyre Pressure Control, ConnectedRide Control and Pro Headlight.

Peter likes a bit of competition. He has been a regular Quad bike racing competitor for quite a while, and he thought he might bring some of that weekend excitement to his daily commute on the street. Peter got his motorcycle licence and then started to look around for a good second-hand bike. That’s when he saw this hardly used Kawasaki Ninja 400 at Procycles Kawasaki Sydney. Peter got lucky with this one. The bike was immaculate and not expensive. The Ninja 400 was Australia’s best-selling LAMS bike, before it was superseded by the 500 version late last year. It was number one because new riders loved its light, easy handling, comfortable and adjustable riding position, super reliability, ample but gentle power characteristics and solid, stable surefootedness negotiating traffic or out on the open road. Mauro rides for fun. The excitement that KTM delivers every time. He’s a KTM man and was on a KTM 690 SMC R previously. Now he’s stepped up to this beautiful KTM 890 SMT. TheKTM 890 SMThas tonsof stopping powerwith great Brembo feel and the ABS works nice and predictably. But the WP adjustable suspension is the best part. At Procycles KTM Sydney we really liked this bike. One of the best all-rounders we have seen.

Caroline took advantage of the BMW Demo Sale at Procycles BMW Sydney and picked herself up a bargain, a new BMW G310 R, her first LAMS approved motorbike. This is a great choice for an entry-level motorcycle. It has all the hallmarks of a BMW. The comfort and ergonomic features. The build quality. The 4-stroke performance, lightness and agility. The hi-grade components, ABS brakes and suspension. The BMW G310 R is the complete package and has everything Caroline needs. Including LED Indicators and LED lights, including a modern daytime running light, plus an Info Flat Screen. The BMW G310 R is an intuitive, agile ride thanks to the optimised engine with Ride by Wire and anti-hopping clutch, whether Caroline is off to work, to an appointment, or just out of the city. She had a friend ride it home to more familiar streets and less traffic, where she would feel a bit more confident trying it for the first time.

Matthew looked at quite a few pre-loved BMW R nineT Racers, before he found this one at Procycles BMW Sydney. He wasn’t all that impressed with the bikes he had seen previously, but his spirits lifted considerably when he saw this immaculate example at St Peters. The R nineT Racer is a retro classic and we reckon that in a few years, these models are going to become very collectable. The R nineT Racer uses the same 1,170cc boxer twin and modular frame as the original R nineT which debuted in 2014. That means 108hp and 116Nm on tap. This is a beautifully balanced motorcycle. It looks so stylish and sounds utterly gorgeous. At Procycles, our workshop insists that all our trade-ins get a 40-point health check and we go to great lengths to present each model in its best possible condition. To us, every bike we sell is special. We want all of our customers to have a new bike experience, no matter what they buy. Procycles have been doing this for over 50 years. We all still ride and we get it.

Matt is a returning Procycles BMW Sydney customer and has traded his M1000 R onto the latest BMW 1300 GS with ASA, Adaptive Vehicle Height Control and the Pro Enduro Package. Troy called us at Procycles KTM Sydney, from somewhere in Victoria, on the hunt for one of the rare 2024 KTM 890 Adventure Rally models. Fortunately, we had one available. After some back-and-forth discussions, we reached an agreement, and a great price. Troy wasted no time securing the bike. Eager to collect his new ride, he booked the first available flight up to Sydney. Being so close to the airport, it was only a short cab ride to Procycles. Same day, Troy was signing the paperwork and picking up his bike. Without missing a beat, he set off on the long ride back to Victoria, ready for new adventures. He rang ahead and said he’ll be home for dinner! That’s what we love about KTM customers. Nothing stops them. No boundaries. No problems. Only solutions. Always ready for the next challenge. The Orange Spirit is alive and well.

Forty years after getting his first BMW, a K100 RS, Ed has just picked up his new BMW R1300 GS from Procycles Hornsby. Ed undertook some amazing outback adventures in the 1980’s, but has been without a motorcycle for 30 years, until he recently retired, bought an electric motorcycle and became the first person to ride one across Australia from Perth to Sydney. He then backed up that feat by riding another electric bike from Sydney to Darwin … via Birdsville! After ticking those boxes, Ed approached our team at Procycles BMW Hornsby to explore the option of getting a second bike to take on even more ambitious motorcycle adventures. The logical choice was the BMW R1300 GS that offers the comfort, dynamics, range and tremendous torque that Ed was looking for as an alternative to his electric bikes. Procycles worked with Ed to prepare his R1300 GS Trophy, equipping it with forged Wheels and header protection covers. And we are all looking forward to seeing where this bike takes Ed on his future travels. One thing’s for sure ... he’s going to be a lot more comfortable.

Anthony was riding round on a GSXS750. Gotta love those Gixxers! But eventually he decided a new bike was the go. Anthony rang us at Procycles Kawasaki Hornsby to check on the availability of the next best thing … a brand new 2025 Kawasaki Z900. Hopefully in silver / white. We had the bike in stock and Anthony came straight down to take a closer look. He really liked the seating position and styling of the bike. Plus the comfort levels achieved by the adjustable controls, all the hi-tech inclusions and the safety features that riders have come to expect from Kawasaki. Anthony placed a deposit that day, we prepped the bike for him and it wasn’t long before he rode off on his beautiful new machine. We don’t expect to see Anthony for a while. These Kawasakis are so reliable and trouble-free, they just never come back. Apart from their scheduled service intervals of course.

Karakat came into Procycles Kawasaki Sydney looking for information and our recommendation on new bikes. She asked the sales team lots of questions and we suggested a few conservative models, as you do with a girl on her red P’s. Karakat went away and we didn’t see her for a while. Then she was back. After careful consideration, she made her decision - she wanted a new Ninja 500 SE KRT 2025 limited edition special! We were surprised to say the least. This model is about as good as it gets in the 500cc class. The exclusive Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) replica colour and graphics are a giveaway as to what lies behind the fairings. The Ninja 500 SE ABS features LED turn signals, a large clear Windshield, a Pillion seat cover, Frame sliders, a USB-C outlet, a Tank and Knee pads, plus a Radiator screen. And the electronic aids include an anti-lock braking system. Max hp is 51hp @ 10,000 rpm  and torque is delivered at 31.7 lb-ft at 7,500 rpm. These bikes are so popular, that normally we have to special order them, only after we receive a deposit. But Karakat was in luck. We actually had one available and due in a few days. We quickly got the bike prepped, registered, and all the paperwork done, so it wasn’t long before Karakat was riding off on her brand-new bike. Totally confident and looking totally cool.

Casper just took delivery of the new 2025 BMW C400 X ion from Procycles BMW Sydney. This “King of Scooters” will be perfect to get him around the city and off to school without having to worry about timetables, late buses and train strikes. Plus, on his new C400 X ion, Casper will stay in touch with the world around him. BMW has the best Connectivity Systems. He can easily connect his smartphone and use numerous functions such as make and receive calls, listen to his favourite beats or navigate his way via the shortest route with the BMW Motorrad Connected app, all visible on the 6.5" colour TFT dash screen. Casper’s BMW Scooter is also safe, powerful and easy to ride with Automatic Stability Control, ABS Pro, Rear preload adjustable suspension, Dynamic brake light, Electronic Immobiliser, LED indicators and lights, 12v socket, Centrestand and Flexcase for heaps of storage.

Juan has just scored himself our Procycles BMW Sydney F900 R ex-demonstrator, for a really big saving off the normal ride away price. Juan’s new BMW F900 R is a dynamic roadster that’s loaded with the best of BMW’s technical features and electronic equipment, to deliver a thrilling ride. This is an under-rated, but we think, one of the best models in the BMW range. The 900cc parallel-twin motor has an excellent power delivery. It’s rideable, responsive, and ready to go at any stage of the rev range. With enough grunt to get Juan’s adrenaline racing, it responds with intuitive precision and accuracy. The BMW F900 R puts out 77 kW max. power (105 hp) with 92 Nm max. torque at 6,500 rpm. Juan has the choice of road or rain riding modes. The ride quality is great. The bike is light and handles really well. Brakes are excellent and there’s a super-cool view of everything happening on the TFT screen.

Brian is like a lot of our Procycles BMW Sydney customers – he’s a total motorcycle fanatic. And he has been riding for as long as he can remember. Brian is no stranger to big bikes and in the mix he’s owned a number of GS Adventures. When Brian thought it was time for another change, he came in to check our stock and spied this very tidy BMW R1250 GS Adventure 40-Year Anniversary edition. This bike was a trade that went straight into our workshop for a 40-point check and pimp for delivery. It arrived out the other side with a clean bill of health. With their new GSA these guys have all they need to head for the horizon and see a lot more of Australia. Have fun and we hope to see you out there … somewhere.

Peter has had his eye on the R12 nineT Option 719 ever since its launch.  He’s had a few bikes over the years, but so far never experienced the totally different power delivery of a BMW boxer engine. Peter’s new R12 nineT puts out 80 kW (109 hp) at 7,000 rpm. For Darragh, his dirt bike riding was becoming all too familiar. He was looking for a new challenge. Scott decided to get into adventure riding and he came into Adventure Central at Procycles BMW Sydney to check out his options in the BMW GS range. Procycles have been THE destination for all things GS, ever since the category was introduced over 40 years ago. The Dynamic Package adds Dynamic ESA, Pro Gear Shift Assist, Pro Riding Modes and Active Cruise Control with Radar Sensor, for carefree riding: The new Cruise Control system lets you set the desired speed and the distance to the vehicle in front, via a button on the bars. A radar sensor determines the speed and the distance to the vehicle ahead. If this distance is reduced, the system automatically reduces the speed and re-establishes the selected distance. If increased, it will also increase the speed. This way, John can enjoy a relaxed, no stress journey.

When you’ve been riding for a while, you really start to work out your preferences. Like Carolyn. She has been on and off motorcycles for a few years and now she wants a bike that can handle the occasional dirt / gravel road, still be able to tour and enjoy an upright, relaxed seating position. But Carolyn had tried the other brands and most proved to be too tall for her to get comfortable. Ray was so lucky to score this near new, low k’s BMW M1000 R Competition, with the ‘works’. This is an epic motorcycle. One of the best we have seen at Procycles BMW Sydney. Think M1000 RR superbike with a less-aggressive riding position and half the fairings removed. The M1000 R punches out 154kW (206hp) which is just 2kW less than the M1000 RR and a massive 33kW (44hp) more than the standard S1000 R. Twist the throttle and hang on for a seriously spine-tingling experience. The 999cc inline four features BMW’s ShiftCam variable intake camshaft control. This tech wizardry helps the engine produce strong, useable power at lower revs, but also provides a devastatingly strong top-end performance. The carbon wings provide 11kg of downforce at 220km/h. The M1000 R already comes standard with a full carbon package and billet folding brake and clutch levers, plus fully adjustable billet footrests and carbon-fibre wheels. Then the previous owner went feral by adding a full Akrapovic system, Engine tune, Carbon front fender with integrated Brake cooling ducts, Carbon wings, Carbon tail tidy, Radiator & Oil cooler guards and a Tinted screen.

In recent years, Graham has been switching between BMWs. He previously was riding an early model S1000 XR, but decided to explore the back roads, so he bought himself an R1250 GS Rallye. After a few fun-filled adventure years, Graham was back to Procycles BMW Sydney, looking for the best of both worlds. Dewayne is an in-demand professional who travels around the world working on consignments. The last time he left Australia we sold his BMW S1000 RR M Sport. The BMW M1000 RR Competition is about as good is it gets … on the road. Hot on the heels of BMW’s M1000 RR and Toprak Razgatiloglu’s World Superbike Championship win, for 2025, BMW has announced a host of fine tuning changes to the M1000, to ensure that it remains competitive in a series that uses homologation models as its basis. Tony has been coming into our Procycles BMW Sydney dealership over the last 12 months, back and forth, looking at the BMW R nineT and more recently, the R12. But we couldn’t quite get him over the line. Jordan had been in regular communication with our Procycles Kawasaki Sydney sales team for two months, wanting more information and any news on the expected arrival date of the brand-new 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100 SX. Then, one morning, without warning, it just turned up. One of the first of the SX models to arrive in Australia. We were able to ring Jordan and give him the incredible news. Not only did we know the delivery date, but we had one in the shop. Jordan gave us a deposit over the phone and hours later he was in the showroom taking a closer look. No wonder he was so keen. Brendan came in early, looking for a very special Christmas present for his 8 year old son, who was riding the wheels off his old Peewee 50. It was definitely time for this mini-motocrosser to get serious. A KTM 50 SX with real suspension, lots of power and race-bred handling was required. At Procycles KTM Hornsby we had just sold our last one – so Brendan had us order one in from KTM, to arrive before Christmas. Peter traded his BMW S1000 XR onto the latest BMW R1300 GS Trophy, kitted out by the factory with the Pro Enduro Package, Forged Wheels, Adaptive Height Control and the amazing ASA - Automated Shift Assist, a feature now available on the 2025 model R1300 GS. ASA is essentially an automatic gearbox that electronically assists clutch control and shifting. There is no need for a manual clutch lever, which makes starting, stopping and manoeuvring a breeze. ASA creates an even more direct link to the powerful boxer engine, which makes for a silky smooth transition between gears and irons out any loss of torque riders may have previously experienced between changes, with a manual gearbox. Adaptive Height Control is another engineering marvel, The bike ride height drops when you come to a stop and rises again when you take off. A big help to those of us who are vertically challenged. Rain, hail or shine, Peter was picking up his new bike from Procycles BMW Sydney. And he was really looking forward to a whole new BMW riding experience.

Norbert spends part of his working year overseas and he actually arrived back into Australia on the morning of his new bike day. Straight off the plane to Procycles BMW Sydney. Fortunately, being only 10 minutes from the airport, we were only a cheap Uber ride away. Norbert celebrated his arrival the best way possible, by riding home on his brand new BMW R1300 GS Trophy. At Procycles, we know Norbert well. He’s a returning customer, having purchased two BMW RT’s from us in the past. He still has his 2022 R1250 RT, but Norbert wanted something that would handle the dirt roads a little more effectively. BMW classifies the R1300 GS as an Adventure Tourer, but the Trophy variant really focusses the bike’s capability back to the dirt. The Trophy is loaded with all the BMW optional packages, particularly the Dynamic package with Quick-shifter, Pro Ride Modes, and Sports Brakes. And the Enduro Pro features of Handlebar risers, Engine and Frame protection, short Levers, wider Foot-pegs, adjustable Gear and rear Brake lever. There are other extras also, including Sport suspension, an Akrapovic muffler and off-road biased rubber.

John visited us at Procycles Kawasaki Sydney, still undecided about which motorcycle to buy. He wanted a performance tourer and all his friends were urging him to check out Kawasaki’s 2024 H2 SX. As it happened, we had a 2024 demonstrator model available in excellent condition with very low kilometres. Once we explained the stats of this incredible machine, John was totally sold. The H2 SX inline-four delivers 200hp @ 11,000rpm, while the all-important torque is a monstrous 137.3Nm at a very usable 8,500rpm. Kawasaki’s Rider Support Technology includes a whole host of electronic aids, many of which come in quite handy when exploring this 200hp supercharged rocketship. Kawasaki’s Cornering Management Function takes information from a number of sources including the IMU during the cornering, to make the transition from braking to getting back on the throttle as smooth as possible. This involves modulating the brake force, engine power and electronic suspension to keep the bike as balanced as possible, while the cornering ABS and traction control makes sure you are always in control of any surface changes. There’s also Launch Control, Wheelie Control, switchable power modes, a Quickshifter and Engine Brake Control. We did John a fantastic deal, including a full set of panniers to enhance the bike’s touring capabilities. John was very excited to collect his new bike. Who wouldn’t be!

Fernando is a serious adventure rider who spends his leisure time riding around the world. He came into Procycles BMW Sydney and ordered a new BMW R1300 GS Trophy. Whilst he was waiting for it to arrive, Fernando rode his old R1200 GS across South America! Fernando got back from his ride halfway across the globe, and picked up his new 1300 GS the following day. This new generation BMW GS motorcycle remains the number one choice for the biggest and best Touring Enduro from BMW Motorrad.
